How a study works

A typical study moves through three steps. You can start anywhere, but most ideas travel the same path: explore, launch, analyze.

1. Explore in Compass

When an idea is still rough, Compass gives you a quick directional read. Describe the product or campaign and Compass returns draft creative copy and a resonance map showing which audiences are likely to attract, stay neutral, or pull away. No full panel run required — it's built for speed while you're shaping the idea.

2. Launch in Pulse

When you're ready for a real read, Pulse is where you set everything up: what you're testing (an A/B comparison, a single concept, a survey statement, or a ranking), the context and competitive landscape, how many panelists to include, and whether to test the entire panel or target specific demographics. Hit run and your study kicks off.

3. Analyze in Panel

Results land in Panel. You get the headline outcome — a winner and probability for A/B tests, scores and distributions for everything — plus breakdowns by audience, automatically detected segments, and the ability to interview individual panelists about why they reacted the way they did. Want to try a tweak? Rerun the study with edited copy or a different audience while keeping the prior responses as memory.

The loop, end to end

Those steps are a loop, not a line. A headline result is the start of the question, not the answer: filter the panel down to the cohort that disagrees with it, interview one of those panelists about why, and rerun the study on the same personas with what they told you. The walkthrough below runs that loop on a single A/B study — play it, or step through the five chapters.

Request a pilot from the home page

The public home page ends with a short pilot request form. Enter your work email and choose Get in touch; Mirror sends the request to the team and confirms it in place. You do not need an account. If automatic delivery is unavailable, the page gives you a pre-filled email link instead of claiming the request was received.

The success message replaces the form only after the notification endpoint accepts the request.

Assets and Brand Settings support every step: attach images and copy from your library, and reuse the contexts, competitors, and saved segments your team has set up.
