Pulse is where you set up and launch a study. You decide what you're testing, who you're testing it on, and at what scale — then run it and watch the results come in.
Choose what you're testing
Pick the mode that matches your question:
A/B — compare exactly two variants and get a probability winner with segment-level breakdowns.
Focus Group — gather qualitative reactions to one or two prompts, then inspect and interrogate them in Panel.
Survey / Statement — put a single statement or situation to the panel for open-ended reactions.
Ranking — rank two or more options against each other.
Freeform Focus Group — ask an ordered set of open-text questions. Add, remove, or reorder questions; Pulse preflights model context, durable-input, and bounded worker-execution budgets and shows the context-safe execution batches before launch.
Set the context and audience
Add your brand or product and any local context — channel, campaign constraints, or specific instructions. Save context you'll reuse as a preset.
Include your competitive landscape so reactions account for the alternatives shoppers see.
Attach images or copy from your Assets library.
Choose the entire panel or target specific demographics — gender, age, income, region, education, household, and race.
Aim at your own persona attributes too, if you have set any up that can be targeted. Pick from the values you declared, or give a range for a numeric one.
Set the sample size, from a quick read to a larger, more confident run.
Each persona attribute shows how many people in the panel currently hold what you picked. Worth watching, because aiming at one of your own attributes never creates new people — a value only exists for someone already on the panel. If your choice reaches fewer people than your sample size asks for, the Pulse runs with the people it found rather than inventing the rest, and Pulse tells you before you launch.
Persona attributes belong to the brand that declared them. Switch brands and the attribute pickers clear and reload, so you are only ever offered the attributes of the brand you are working in.
Launch
When you run a study, Pulse hands you off to Panel, where results stream in and you can explore them as they arrive. Anything you set up here — context, competitors, audience — is reflected in the results.
Plan it in conversation
The planning agent beside the form on wide screens — and above the direct controls on smaller screens — can turn a goal into a complete Pulse configuration, look up relevant brand and capacity context, and explain its assumptions. Each message continues an authenticated planning thread for the active brand. The most recent thread returns when you reload or revisit Pulse, and it remains scoped to the signed-in user and active brand. Agent revisions update the form automatically; use Revert to restore the immediately previous reviewed draft. Its recommendations and tool actions use the same versioned guidance references published in Plan and run Pulses with chat.
Describe the decision you need to make, the alternatives, and the audience.
As you write, Mirror sketches a reversible study preview and briefly highlights the form fields it would use. Its inference follows the brand's Creative, Balanced, or Strict planning setting. Send the message to have the agent validate and update the durable draft.
Review the versioned Pulse draft the agent proposes and adjust it in chat or in the form.
Ask the agent to validate the draft.
When you ask it to create the Pulse, review the final summary in the approval card beside the message composer and explicitly approve it. The card shows progress and any error immediately. Editing the draft invalidates the old approval.
The authenticated brand thread and direct controls collaborate on one reviewed Pulse draft.
At 1,050 pixels and below, planning comes first and the direct configuration controls follow it.
The agent cannot silently launch a study. Creation always pauses for your approval of the exact draft revision. Once handled, the card becomes read-only Approved or Rejected history.
The current approval stays beside the message composer while the planning transcript scrolls independently above it.
Navigate a longer planning discussion
Use the transcript scrollbar to revisit earlier decisions. New activity does not pull you away while you are reading; choose new updates to return to the latest message.
A pending creation approval stays above the scrollable transcript, so you do not need to hunt for it at the end of a long discussion. Approve and Reject show their working state and report failures in the card.
Responses render headings, emphasis, lists, links, code, and tables as formatted Markdown. Wide tables scroll inside the message instead of widening the page.
Use Copy on any message to place its original Markdown on your clipboard. Press Enter to send or Shift+Enter for a new line.
Sharing Pulse with someone without an account
This page is safe to send to a colleague who has not signed up. Signed out, /pulse is a public page: instead of a sign-in prompt it plays the loop walkthrough — one study going from configuration to verdict, then a demographic filter, a persona interview, and a rerun — so they can see what a Pulse produces before deciding anything.
What a signed-out visitor sees at /pulse. Run your own pulse in less than a minute. opens account creation in place; once they finish, the same URL becomes the configuration form described above.
